Heather Brown's "Haleiwa" Green with Aloha Tote Bag is Now Available!

Aloha,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. We finally got the new Green With Aloha tote bags in! For the newest design I created a Haleiwa piece that I hope you all like!
I also changed the actual bag, we found a company that farms and manufactures in the USA and they made us recycled canvas bags that are so sturdy and made with 100% recycled fibers!

Please check them out on my site or a retailer near you. We can all make an impact with small life changes a little at a time. Let's band together and stop the use of single use plastic and paper bags to keep our lands green and our oceans blue!

I wanted to write a quick blog to let everyone know that I will be having two shows on Oahu on February 12, 2011.

I have been painting a lot of new pieces since the New Year and will have two new and different collections for each show, so if you are able, you might want to come to both shows!

Special Deal for Maui and Kaua'i Residents!

Aloha,

I started a company called Green With Aloha last year, and we are focused on making great eco-friendly products for people to use instead of single use items, such as re-usable tote bags and re-usable drink bottles. I really hope that more people and local businesses will be encouraged to stop using single use plastic bags and water bottles as an easy start and find other ways to keep our Islands GREEN and our oceans BLUE!

With the recent ban on one time use plastic bags on Maui and Kaua'i, I would like to offer the residents of both Maui and Kaua'i a chance to purchase these extremely durable (these are bags that will last years, unlike so many of the ones seen at stores), recycled canvas, re-usable tote bags at a very special price. The bags usually sell for $30 retail, but for a limited time and quantity, I will be selling them to residents of Maui and Kaua'i for only $10.00 for 2 bags! That's only $5 each (plus s&h)
There is a limited quantity at this price, so it will be at a first come, first serve basis.

Instructions for getting your special deal on the re-usable tote bags:
1. Send an email to heatherbrownbagpromo@gmail.com
2. Include in email your Maui or Kaua'i address that the bag must be shipped to (limit 2 bags per address)
3. Heather Brown Art will send you a Paypal invoice for $20 (2 bags for $10 plus $10 for priority mail shipping)
4. Pay the Paypal invoice
5. In a few days you will be sporting your brand new "Green With Aloha" tote bag by Heather Brown

Here is a picture of the bag, the dimensions of the bag are: 18" wide x 15" high x 5" gusset

If you have any questions or would like to do a feature, please contact me and I would be happy to give you any additional info. I would really like this to be printed as I really want to try and help out Hawai'i residents and help in the process of keeping Hawai'i green and our oceans blue.

Mahalo,

Heather

Heather Brown Art and Matsumoto Shave Ice Collaboration

Aloha!

A while back I was asked to design a tee shirt for the World Famous Matsumoto Shave Ice for their 60th Anniversary. If you have not heard of Matsumoto Shave Ice, this link will tell you the great history
http://www.matsumotoshaveice.com/content/view/12/27/lang,en/

I was obviously so honored to be asked that I of course said yes, yes, yes! I ended up doing two designs for them and they are now available at the store and will be available shortly on their website. You can call them though and place an order for some shirts too!

With the great success of the tee shirts and sweatshirts, they asked if we could make prints and greeting cards with the designs, so we did and they are now available in the Matsumoto Shop and will also be available for a limited time from my website.

North Shore Storms

WOW! What a morning of storms! We were woken up at about 4 am this morning by huge wind gust, lightning, LOUD thunder and pelting rain, rain, rain! Chris and I took advantage to look outside and we captured a few pictures to show you. This weather will make for a huge new collection of originals though! Keep your eyes open for them. The original of "Waikiki" that I posted a few days ago just sold, but I promise there will be more big art coming your way. I will be unveiling 2 new groups of work on February 12, 1 at the Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa from 12-3 pm and the second at the Wyland Gallery in Waikiki from 6-9 pm. I will share more details on those two shows as we get closer.

New Collectors!

Aloha and Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and you are ready for the week ahead!

I am always so happy to hear about people discovering my art and enjoying it, I love to hear that it makes people happy because when I paint, that is really my goal. I am so fortunate for every single collector new and old alike, and sometimes, people even send pictures of themselves with their new Heather Brown Art!

I received a cool email this weekend from the great crew at Mu'umu'u Heaven in Kailua informing me of a new collector of my art. His name is Michihiro Ogasawara and he is a professional baseball player from Japan. He is one of the most consistent hitters in the league and during his time at the Hokkaido NipponHam Fighters his nicknames were "Guts  (ガッツ)" and "Mr. Full Swing (ミスター・フルスイング)"!

They even sent over a picture of him holding the new original that he purchased. Big Mahalo to Mr. Full Swing and the great gals at Mu'umu'u Heaven!

Exciting New Original Art by Heather Brown

Aloha from the chilly North Shore! We had our coldest night of the winter so far and it is still really chilly this morning here, perfect painting weather!

I just finished up a few originals and posted them to my website, www.heatherbrownart.com

The big 30"x40" acrylic on canvas is called "Waikiki" and it will be a published piece, meaning that there will be a limited edition of 100 giclees and 10 Artist Proofs made from this original image.

I also just finished 2 originals on sustainable, eco-friendly bamboo skate decks. Here are some pictures.

The last piece with the 6 vintage birds was a commissioned piece for a collector that I just finished and though I would share.

Everyone Enjoy The Day!

Heather

A Day At Pipeline 1-2-11

Aloha!

I hope everyone made it through the holidays in one piece! Yesterday we went down to Pipeline to check out a great new swell that was starting to pick up. The morning saw some smaller messier conditions, but by early afternoon, it was on! We were lucky enough to be invited up to the Obrien hale by Mick and Jamie to get a different perspective. Mahalo Nui Mick and Jamie! Here are some shots from yesterday. Enjoy!
